MASON CITY — Mason City’s annual Civil War Reenactment will be Sept. 9-11.

Because this is the 150th anniversary of the start of the Civil War, there are many more regional and national events than usual.

Moving from its regular August date allows the reenactors and venders to go to a national event in Missouri in August, according to Angie Duggan.

The 18th annual Civil War Re-enactment in East Park will feature a special 9/11 tribute.

Schools are invited to bring classes to Kids’ Day on Friday, offering the opportunity for a living history lesson. Busses are welcome, according to Duggan.

Regular features will return.

For information, or to volunteer, contact Duggan, 641-424-3049.
