MASON CITY — Children are invited to participate in a Legos contest sponsored by Wright On the Park (WOTP).
The contest is part of WOTP’s celebration of the fifth anniversary of the opening of The Historic Park Inn Hotel in Mason City.
“Everyone loves Legos,” said Lisa Templeton, WOTP office administrator. “This will give kids a chance to show off what they can do and it gives us an opportunity to highlight architecture.”
The contest involves constructing a building of any type from Legos and bringing the result into Wright on the Park at 17 S. Federal Ave. between now and Sept. 4.
All entries will be displayed at WOTP.
The completed building must be no more than two feet wide, two feet long and three feet high.
Judging will take place Sept. 5 as part of the Family Fun Day, which will be 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. in Central Park.
Prizes will be awarded in three age categories: 5-7, 8-10 and 11-14. Prizes will be given for first, second and third place in each category based on design creativity and originality. A house, an office, a church – any building is eligible. Kits will not be accepted. Each entry will be returned to the builder after the contest.
Entry forms are available at WOTP and at day care centers in Mason City. They may also be downloaded at www.wrightonthepark.org.
Questions can be directed to the WOTP office at 641-423-0689.
