MASON CITY — “Friday Night Live,” Main Street Mason City’s summer concert series, continues 5 to 10 p.m. Friday, Aug. 10, on North Federal Avenue, across from Central Park.

Music begins with J. Martin Carden. Headliners Jon Hepperly Band will go on at 7.

It includes a classic car show and inflatables for the kids, with food and beverages available.

Jon Hepperly (guitar/ drums/vocals) started performing at age 8, going to talent shows and jam sessions where his mom was singing. He joined various bands at age 10, and when he was 16 he started a band with his mom, Nina, who will make a guest appearance Friday.

Son Justin (guitar/drums) marks the third generation to play in the band.

Aaron Waechter (bass) played with 20/20 Hindsight for five years before joining Hepperly’s band.

Jim Ellickson, toured with various 1970s bands, joining the Hepperly band in the early 1990s.

Newest member, René Recinos (saxophone/flute/keyboards/vocals/auxiliary percussion) is a founding member of the Jazz Coalition Big Band, co-creator of 5 Friends jazz combo, a member of Una Vocis, and has performed with the Mason City Municipal Band.

Iowa native Jennifer Erwin White has sung with bands across north and central Iowa for 12 years, and was lead singer in Jen-X.
