Buffalo Days set for Saturday in Nora Springs

NORA SPRINGS — The Nora Springs Historical Society will be open during Buffalo Days, Saturday, June 23, at the Adam’s House, Memories Building and blacksmith shop from 11:30 a.m. to 4 p.m.

Society members will be making ice cream, snow cones and cotton candy at Boulder Park.

Buffalo Days includes live music, a 5K run/walk, a car show, a motorcycle poker run and a parade, is being organized by the Nora Springs Lions Club and the Nora Springs Fire Department.

The schedule:

7:45 a.m. — Pre-register for 5K run/walk, next to firebarn.

8 a.m. — Softball tournament at North Sullivan Avenue ballfields.

8:30 a.m. — 5K run/walk begins at firebarn.

9-11 a.m. — Car show registration.

9 a.m.-2 a.m. — Frosty Mugs’ bar hours

10 a.m. — Motorcycle Poker Run registration, firebarn.

10 a.m. -3 p.m. — Bingo.

11 a.m. — Motorcycle Poker run begins.

11 a.m.- 3 p.m. — Car show.

11 a.m.- 3 p.m. — Waterball challenge.

11 a.m. - 3 p.m. — Buffalo meal at Boulder Park.

11 a.m. - 3 p.m. — Nora Springs Historical Society selling popcorn, snow cones, cotton candy, homemade ice cream and pies at Boulder Park.

11 a.m.-3 p.m. — Famous Jay Brooks to play music.

11 a.m.- 3 p.m. — Carnival games, inflatable, kids’ train rides, face painting.

11:30 a.m. - 4 p.m. — The Nora Springs Historical Society will be open at the Adam’s House, Memories Building and blacksmith shop.

Noon — Bean bag tournament registration, firebarn.

1 p.m. — Bean bag tournament begins.

3 p.m. — Car show awards.

4 p.m. — Parade (line up at the football field/North Quinby).

5 p.m. — Fireman’s Ball begins, with a cover charge for the bands.

5 p.m. until gone — Buffalo meal, firebarn

5-8 p.m. — Mark Hestness and Brent Eveland (opening band for Fireman’s Ball).

9 p.m. - 1 a.m. — Chocolate Crackers (closing band for Fireman’s Ball).

In case of bad weather, the daytime activities and meal will be at Central Springs School.
