CLEAR LAKE — The Blue Horizon Players will present “The Taking of the Ocean Star — A Musical (sort of)” Aug. 18-19, with shows in Mason City and Clear Lake.
The performance of high jinks on the high seas includes danger, intrigue, singing, redemption and pratfalls.
“This show is a small cast, short run, minimal practice extravaganza that you cannot afford to miss,” according to promoters.
This original comedy features script written and directed by Stef Penfield.
Show dates and locations are Aug. 18 at Mason City VFW Post 733, 1603 S. Monroe Ave., and Aug. 19 at PM Park, 15297 Raney Drive, Clear Lake.
Shows begin at 7 p.m.
Music includes karaoke numbers performed by cast members Gloria Beeman, Dave Coulter, Barb Halbach, Tim McCollum, Kristy Neidlinger, Stacey Nichols, Dave Spilman and Stef Penfield. Lights and sound will be by Mark Mowrey and Mark Hanson.
