CLEAR LAKE | A Clear Lake woman was arrested for driving while intoxicated early New Year's Day.
A Cerro Gordo County Sheriff's deputy stopped Kelsey Marie Foster, 22, for failing to stop at a stop sign in the 200 block of Fourth Street in Clear Lake about 2:12 a.m.
The deputy said Foster smelled strongly of alcohol, according to charging documents.
She failed sobriety testing and had a blood alcohol content of .139, court documents say. Iowa's legal limit is .08.
She was charged with operating under the influence — first offense — and booked into the Cerro Gordo County Jail. She posted a $1,000 bond later that afternoon.
Foster is scheduled to appear in Cerro Gordo County District Court Jan. 24.
