Children's author Collette Dahl Lorentzen will be at the Clear Lake Public Library, 200 N. Fourth St., from 11 a.m. to noon Saturday, Sept. 23.

She will read from her recently published book, "Wilber's Scary Day!"

Lorentzen, who has done artwork for others, did all of the illustrations in her self-published book, which was released in May.

She said she drew the picture of Wilber about 30 years ago, and wrote the book for her grandchildren. Wilber's boy, Oliver, is modeled after her grandson.

The book, the first in a series, is meant to teach a lesson. Wilber is a happy puppy who loves to play, but sometimes his nose gets him into trouble. This time, he gets lost in the woods.

The book is available at Book World in Southbridge Mall, the gift shop at Mercy Medical Center - North Iowa, and on Amazon.

Lorentzen lives in Clear Lake.
