The West Hancock wrestling team pushed four wrestlers on to the district tournament Saturday with a solid showing at the Class 1A sectional tournament at Lake Mills.

The Eagles finished fourth in the team race with 133 points. Lake Mills won with 241, Eagle Grove was second with 196 and Newman took third with 159.

Tate Hagen brought home a sectional title at 160 pounds after earning a 3-1 decision over Lake Mills' Elijah Wagner. After Hagen, the other three qualifiers were all runner-up finishers.

Dalton Subject finished second at 145 pounds, Caleb Eckels was second at 182 and Hunter Hagen took second at 195. in Hagen's title match, Lake Mills' Gabe Irons won by fall. It was Hagen's third loss of the season, and third loss to Irons.

Also for the Eagles, Chandler Redenis was third at 285, Justin Ausborn was fourth at 152, Cole Kelly took fourth at 170 and Austin Brouwer was fourth at 220.

This Saturday's district tournament starts at noon in Manson.
