CLARION — A huge first half was enough to help lift West Hancock to a 66-56 season-opening victory over Clarion-Goldfield-Dows on Tuesday, Nov. 21.

West hancock jumped to a 34-20 lead at half and held on through the second half to grab the win.

Freshman Rachel Leerar made a splash in her first varsity game with a team-high 20 points off the bench, which included a 9-for-13 effort at the free-throw line.

Kelly Leerar added 16 points, five assists and four steals, and Riley Hiscocks also hit double figures with 10 points while adding eight rebounds.

Additionally, Sydney Burgardt scored six points and grabbed eight rebounds, and Madison Eisenman scored five points.
