The West Hancock girls basketball team closed out its regular season on Tuesday, Feb. 6, with a 49-39 win over West Fork as part of the Top of Iowa crossover clashes. Tuesday's slate was full of games matching teams from each side of the TIC with teams seeded by where they finished.
In the Eagles' win, it was a strong fourth quarter which helped give them plenty of space for victory. West Hancock used a 16-8 run to start the fourth to help it pull away.
Rachel Leerar led the Eagles with 20 points and Amanda Chizek added nine. Leerar also had four rebounds, three assists and five steals, and Chizek grabbed 11 rebounds.
Also for the Eagles, Sydney Burgardt had six points and five rebounds, Kelley Leerar scored six points and handed out seven assists, and Mahayla Faust scored five.
