BRITT — A strong third quarter helped West Hancock to a 7-52 win over Newman Catholic on Tuesday, Dec. 19.

The Knights carried a 36-34 lead into halftime before the Eagles used a 19-9 run in the third to open things up. West hancock closed out the game by outscoring the Knights 19-7 in the final quarter

Freshman Rachel Leerar paced the Eagles with a game-high 22 points, Amanda Chizek finished with a double-double with 16 points and 18 rebounds, and Maddie Eisenman added 14 points. Kelly Leerar also finished in double figures for the Eagles (7-1) with 10 points. Leerar also had eight assists.

Also for the Eagles, Riley Hiscocks scored four points and Mahayla Faust and Sydney Hudspeth scored three apiece.

Maria Determan and Peyton Olson scored 10 points apiece to lead the Knights, and McKenzie Sullivan and Hailey Wormann each had nine.
