The West Hancock boys basketball team had an up-and-down week last week as the Eagles finished 1-1. West Hancock fell to Forest City 64-49 last Friday, and held on for a 71-67 win over North Iowa on Tuesday, Jan. 23.
In Friday's loss, West Hancock was unable to overcome a slow second quarter which saw the Indians outscore the Eagles 25-11.
In the win over North Iowa, three Eagle starters collected three fouls apiece in the first half, but a strong effort from the West Hancock bench helped boost the Eagles.
MaCoy Yeakel finished with 22 points, six assists and five steals to pace West Hancock.
Chase Eisenman added nine points, seven assists and six rebounds while Brayden Leerar added eight points off the bench.
Additionally, Tristan hunt scored seven points and had eight rebounds off the bench, and Joe Smith added four points and five rebounds.
