Suddenly a great army of heaven’s angels appeared with the angel, singing praises to God: “Glory to God in the highest heaven, and PEACE on earth to those with whom He is well pleased.” Luke 2:13-14

Most of us are desperately seeking and longing for PEACE… 2017 has been anything but a year of peace for our world, our nation or for many of us.

Many of us have come to the end of 2017 worn out in body, mind and spirit, but I want to encourage you by reminding you of the promised gift of Christmas: PEACE!

“Peace on Earth to those with whom God is well-pleased.” Rick Warren has noted in his daily devotion that God wants to give us three kinds of PEACE.

PEACE WITH GOD: This is spiritual peace, and it’s the most important because it is the basis of all peace! We read in 2 Corinthians 5:18 that God sent Christ to make peace between Himself and us. Peace comes from what Jesus did for us on the cross and God wants to give you spiritual peace through forgiveness this Christmas!

PEACE WITHIN: The Bible call this emotional peace; the peace of God. When I have peace with God, then I experience the peace of God inside me. In Colossians 3:15 we read: Let the peace of God rule in your hearts. God wants to gift us with His rule of peace in our lives.

PEACE WITH OTHERS: Thirdly God offers us relational peace. In Ephesians 2:16 we read: Christ reconciled all groups to God by means of His death on the cross, ending our hostility to each other. The only way to experience the gift of peace with each other is to be united as Children of God.

This Christmas, I pray that you may be ready, willing and able to receive His gift of real and lasting peace; spiritual peace, emotional peace, and relational peace.
