LAKE MILLS — Bruce A. Gregor, age 64, of Lake Mills, died Sunday, Dec. 25, 2016, at the Mayo Clinic Hospital in Rochester, Minnesota.
A memorial service was at 11 a.m. Wednesday, Dec. 28, at Salem Lutheran Church in Lake Mills with Pastor Joel L. Guttormson officiating. Inurnment will take place at a later date.
Visitation for Bruce was from 5-7 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 27, at Mittelstadt Funeral Home, 902 E. Main St. in Lake Mills and continued one hour prior to the service at the church.
Bruce Alan Gregor was born on March 6, 1952, in Fergus Falls, Minnesota, the son of Merill Floyd and Dorothy Darlene (Paulsen) Gregor. He attended and graduated from Britt High School in Britt with the Class of 1970. He went on to attend NIACC in Mason City.
Bruce lived in Thompson prior to moving to Lake Mills in 1976. He worked at Fleetguard Industries for 33 years, first as a supervisor and later as a scheduler. Bruce later worked for Schriever Services and Pritchard Family Auto Stores.
On Sept. 15, 1990, Bruce was united in marriage with Darlene “Dolly” Garvick Miller at Our Savior’s Lutheran Church in Kiester, Minnesota.
Free time would find Bruce on the golf course with his buddies, woodworking in his shop, doing minor home improvements, or watching Mark Martin in the latest NASCAR race on TV. But he would put everything aside to watch his children and grandchildren if they had sporting events or school activities.
Bruce is survived by his wife Darlene of Lake Mills; children: Cory (Emilie) Gregor of Des Moines, Dallas (Karin) Gregor of Des Moines, Andy Gregor of Lake Mills, Jeff (Dorie Paulus) Miller of Lake Mills and Julie (Shawn) Helgeson of Lake Mills; and grandchildren Jaci Miller of Lake Mills, Tyler, Karli and Carter Helgeson of Lake Mills, Gaven and Graysen Gregor of Des Moines and Luke and Vivian Gregor of Des Moines. He is also survived by a brother-in-law Gene Ratzel, sister-in-law Sherry Gregor, uncle Cliff Paulsen, his mother-in-law Bernice Garvick, brother and sister-in-law Dale and Janet Garvick, many nieces and nephews, and a host of friends.
He was preceded in death by his parents Merill and Dorothy Gregor; stepmom Rose Gregor; four siblings Rick, Robert, Sharon and Dave; and his father-in-law Henry Garvick.
